My Body: The Friend I Thought Was My Enemy
My Body: The Friend I Thought Was My Enemy
For years, I avoided my body.
Forced it to fight battles on its own.
Signed up for war—then ran away.
I told myself I couldn’t handle it.
And yet, my body fought anyway.
It won while believing it was losing.
Because I made it believe that.
But the thinking?
That was never my body’s.
That was mine.
The Power My Body Always Had
My body knows things I can’t even fathom.
A power so potent—if only I’d stop resisting and just listen.
It was never the enemy.
The real enemy? The outside voices.
The judgments. The conditioning. The stories I bought as truth.
Yet, I raged against my own body.
Made it wrong.
Punished it.
Treated it like an opponent I had to defeat.
And all along, it was the best friend I never acknowledged.
The silent cheerleader for every single one of my demands
I asked for the world—it said yes.
I asked for war—it said yes.
I asked for weakness—it said yes.
I asked for sickness—it said yes.
Because my body always listens.
It always delivers.
Even when my demands were unkind.
The Shift: Asking for Something New
But now, I ask differently.
I ask for strength.
I ask for health.
I ask for support.
I ask for friendship.
And my body—faithful as ever—says yes again.
It plays. It heals. It thrives.
All I had to do was extend my hand in friendship.
To let my body support me the way it always wanted to.
Receiving My Body, Fully
Now, I receive my body.
Now, I admire my body.
Now, I’m grateful for my body.
Now, I judge it less.
And what a miracle that is.
Oh, what a miracle my body is.
