What If Rejection Isn’t the Problem

What If Rejection Isn’t the Problem—But Your Fear of It Is?

I came across this quote online:

“Do one thing every day that makes you uncomfortable.”

So, I decided to try it.

And here’s what I discovered: Rejection makes me deeply uncomfortable.

When I looked closer, I saw all the ways I had spent my life avoiding it.

  • I cut myself off from opportunities.
  • I sold myself short before anyone else could.
  • I downplayed my gifts so they wouldn’t seem ‘too much.’
  • I accepted disrespect rather than risk standing up for myself.
  • I undervalued my work so no one could say I wasn’t worth it.

Because deep down, I believed that if I dared to own my worth, raise my prices, take
up space, or walk through life full of myself…

    I would be outright rejected.

    Because how dare she?

But do you know what that actually created?

A life I despised.
A body in pain.
A business that barely thrived.
A reality where my choices and my asks were mediocre at best.

So here’s the new demand I’ve made of myself:

No more playing small out of fear of rejection.
No more pricing myself low to avoid judgment.
No more minimizing my asks to stay ‘acceptable.’
No more shrinking myself so others feel comfortable.

I am choosing bigger.
I am asking for more.
I am putting myself out there fully.

And yes—some people may find that too much. It might scare them, trigger them, or even push
them away.

But that’s not my problem.

Because when I choose me, my life expands. Ease, joy, and glory unfold naturally—not because
others approve, but because I’m no longer waiting for permission.

Your turn.

What’s one thing you can do today that makes you uncomfortable—but will create so much more for you?
